Fee breakdown
How Etsy fees actually work
Every sale on Etsy is reduced by a handful of separate fees before you see a payout. Understanding each one is the difference between pricing a listing that actually turns a profit and one that quietly loses money.
Listing fee — $0.20
Etsy charges $0.20 every time a listing is published or automatically renews (listings run for 4 months, or until they sell). This applies whether or not the item sells.
Transaction fee — 6.5%
Etsy takes 6.5% of the total sale amount, including the item price, shipping, and any gift wrapping charged to the buyer.
Payment processing fee
On top of the transaction fee, Etsy Payments charges a processing fee that varies by the seller's bank location — for example, 3% + $0.25 per order in the United States, or 4% + a small flat fee in the UK and EU.
Offsite Ads fee — 12% or 15%
If a sale is attributed to an Etsy Offsite Ad (ads Etsy runs for your listings on Google, Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms), Etsy takes an additional 15% of the order total — or 12% if your shop has done more than $10,000 in sales over the trailing 12 months. Shops under that threshold can opt out of Offsite Ads entirely; larger shops are automatically enrolled.
